Summer Workshop Series

Free workshops on music, art, and activism throughout July and August.

All girls, trans, and nonbinary youth ages 8-18 welcome.

They’re here! Our Summer Workshop Series begins on July 9 and we have five weeks of exciting FREE sessions available for DC girls and trans and non-binary young folks.

All of our workshops are on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings from 6-8pm at St Stephens Church in Columbia Heights, accessible by bus and metro. All of the workshops are FREE to attend and include dinner for participants.

Tuesday, July 9: Understanding Gender: How to better understand the youth in our lives (for adult caregivers and family members)
Thursday, July 11: Learn to DJ (ages 11-18)
Tuesday, July 16: Intro to pedals: Sounds beyond the chord (ages 11-18)
Thursday July 18: Heartbeat of Brazil: The rhythms of Samba Reggae with Batala Washington (ages 8-18)
Tuesday July 23: Instead of Changing Your Body, Change the World! (ages 14-18)
Thursday July 25: Creative Justice: Telling Your Story with Zines (ages 8-18)
Tuesday July 30: Basic Guitar Maintenance for Teens (ages 14-18)
Tuesday August 6: Songwriting for New Songwriters (ages 8-13)
Thursday August 8: Encouraging love in a teenage society (ages 12-18)
