Our 2020-2022 Virtual Programs

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Girls Rock! DC has offered many of our activities online. Learn more below.

In order to follow prevailing health guidance and prioritize the well-being of our Girls Rock! DC participants, we’ve offered many of our programs online. We have been holding incredible camps, after-school programs, and workshops virtually!

We know that when times get tough, we turn to the arts, and so we’re committed to continue holding space for DC’s young folks to express themselves, create, collaborate, and build something beautiful together!

VIRTUAL SUMER CAMP 2021

Our 2021 Summer Campers have rocked out in TWO sessions of virtual camp. They spent each week learning new instruments and pouring their hearts into their music. They got to learn from local musicians about their art and got to envision the better worlds they want to create!

GR!ASP SPRING 2021

Girls Rock! DC After-School Program (GR!ASP) is happening February 1 – March 27, 2021. GR!ASP is an 8-week virtual after-school music education program for young folks ages 8 to 18 in the DC area. GR!ASPers learn to play an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform it at a big virtual concert!

VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP 2020

Our youth engaged with local teaching artists on subjects like Songwriting, Protest Percussion, Block Printing from Home, Using Soundtrap, Abolition and the Arts, Music Entrepreneurship and much more! During lunchtime, campers watched virtual concerts featuring some of the DMVs coolest artists and bands! Cinema Hearts, Dutchie Dutch, Clear Channel, Lightmare, and DJ Geena Marie also offered Q&As where campers asked about everything from the business of music to songwriting techniques.
